Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #173 -- Cool Treats

Today I'm taking a break from the wedding recaps to do a little scrapbooking!  When I have a few minutes, I love to see what's going on over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog!  This week's challenge was to make anything with a "cool treat" so I headed up to my scrapbook room and dug through some pics until I found something with ice cream!!  I kept coming across DQ ice cream cakes (a family favorite) but couldn't find any Cricut cuts to go with it and then I remembered this fun pic of Henderson eating dog ice cream!  This is totally unlike me to scrapbook something so out of order, but hey, when you're 3+ years behind what's it really matter right?!

The page is actually an 8x10 and will go in a horizontal Project Life page protector.  The ice cream sundae is cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge and then I used my CuttleBug to emboss the dish.  Eventually I'll add the date to the page (when I figure out what it was!!).

And.. ironically enough, today is Henderson's 4th birthday!  This big guy brings so much joy to us and makes our family complete.  He and Mason were such good sports for this little photo shoot earlier tonight!!

Hippity Hop -- Right thru April

It’s hard to believe that this was the 3rd year Adam has gone home for Easter with me (Henderson’s second).  It’s funny to compare the past 3 years of Easters – see below.  I guess we haven’t really changed that much, the biggest change has been our zip codes over the last 3 years!  I love that Adam tolerates my need for us to match on Easter Sunday J

Adam was wearing my grandpa's tie in the middle picture and one of his white dress shirts this year (bottom pic).  Funny thing is, he didn't try on the shirt prior to Easter morning and the sleeves were a little on the short side!  Lesson learned about not trying things on in advance!

We had a nice visit at home and got to spend time with Abs.  That little tyke has soooo much energy!  She can wear out 5 adults and still keep going and going and going!  She loves to wrestle Adam.

Telling Adam what to do - wonder who she learned that from??

We also celebrated Granny, Chip and my birthday while we were all there together.  I can't believe I'm 26!  When did I get this old?!?  I still feel like I'm 18.

We ended Easter weekend with what's becoming our traditional Easter egg hunt with Miss Abbie.  I remember in 2009, when we "hid" the eggs for her by laying them in the grass.  Now, she will race you to get them in her basket before you can and loves to decorate them ahead of time with paint, stickers, dye, markers and sometimes even rocks.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yep.. that's right.. today I turn 25 years old!  How did this happen?!?  Wasn't it just yesterday that Chip turned 10 and me 8 and we were going out to a snazzy dinner at the Char to celebrate?! The thought of actually turning a quarter of a century old really just has me baffled.  I think about all of my friends and the people that I know and the various stages people are in life at "25" and it's so all over the place!  I know people that are engaged, married, with kids, with SEVERAL kids, divorced, happily single, anxiously awaiting something bright and new, still in school, just starting their first "real" jobs and on and on it goes!

Celebrating "25" Disneyland style

2006: Just turned 20!
So as I think about the last 25 years, I have to stop and take a minute to recognize how blessed and fortunate I am.  I have a wonderful family who has always stood by me and are always so proud of everything I've done - from my 16+ years of dance classes to my fierce independence that  I was born with and everything in between.  I have amazing friends who make me laugh and smile and feel like a kid(D) every time we get together.  We can go days, weeks and sometimes months without getting to catch up and still manage to talk like it was only yesterday that we were hanging out.  I have a sweet, gentle, kind, romantic, affectionate, smart, good-lookin', kid & animal loving, one-of-a-kind, TN movin' boyfriend that I wouldn't trade for all the black cats in the world.

So, to sum it all up, I am one lucky chick.  I look forward to living out the rest of my century and adding to my wonderful collection of memories.  Here's 25 memories to celebrate the first 1/4 of my century:
